تدور احداث المسلسل حول سفينة الفضاء الغريبة التي تحطمت في جزيرة جنوب المحيط الهادىء, وبهذه التقنية المتطورة للسفينة الفضائية طورت الأرض آلات روبوتية عملاقة حيث كان العديد منها قادرا على التحول الى مركبات ولكن بعدة فترة قصيرة تعرضت الأرض الى غزو فضائي وتم استخدام المركبات الكتطورة لمحاربة الغزو الفضائي خارج الأرض وكانت هذه الالات قوية لردع الغزاة.
Robotech is an 85-episode adaptation of three different anime television series made between 1982-1984 in Japan; the adaptation was aired in 1985. Within the combined and edited story, Robotechnology refers to the scientific advances discovered in an alien starship that crashed on a South Pacific island. With this technology, Earth developed giant robotic machines or mecha to fight three successive extraterrestrial invasions.
The Macross Saga
Ten years after a mysterious alien ship lands on Earth and is rebuilt with its technology adapted, the alien warrior servants (the Zentraedi) of the ship's owners arrive to retrieve it.

In the year 1999, an abandoned alien battle fortress crash-lands on the planet Earth.
