تدور أحداث المسلسل حول طالب فاشل يدعى حسان (هاناميتشي ساكوراجي) وكيفيه تحوله من طالب بلا أهداف ومبتدئ إلى لاعب جيد في فريق الصقور (شوهوكو) بطريقة طريفة وجميلة ومشّوقة حيث أثار اعجاب الكثيرين معا انه في أول مبارباته كان يطرد بخمس اخطاء ولكن الجمهور لايهتم لذلك لانه يقدم عرضا رائعا اما باقي لاعبي الفريق هم : فادي، سعد، جواد، بدر وسهيلكل منهم له قصته في الانضمام إلى الفريق وقصتهم عند وصولهم إلى البطولة.
Sakuragi Hanamichi is a junior high punk used to getting into fights and being rejected by girls but upon entering high school he meets the girl of his dreams, Haruko Akagi. He will do anything in order to win her heart including joining the school basketball team that is aiming to conquer the nation lead by Haruko's brother. The problem is that Sakuragi has never played basketball before and a freshman sensation is stealing the spotlight and Haruko's affection from him.

After being dumped by Yoko, a girl he really liked in Junior High, Sakuragi Hanamichi was devastated. On the first day of school, he was approached by a girl who asked him whether he likes basketball or not. He immediately said he loves it although he has no idea how to play the sport. His world is filled with hope again.
