Overview

The Monroes is a 26-segment Western television series which originally aired on ABC during the 1966-1967 season. The series centers around the story of five orphans trying to survive as a family on the frontier in the area around, what is now, Grand Teton National Park near Jackson, Wyoming.

Plot

Clayt is 18 when orphaned heading to a new home out West. He's responsible for sisters Kathy and Amy who are 16 and 6, twin brothers almost 12. New neighbor is Major Mapoy, a sometime antagonist while Jim is their hand.

The Intruders

This hour-long series follows the five orphaned Monroe children as they struggle to survive in the Wyoming Territory during the 1870's. When their parents are lost in the rapids of the Snake River, 18-year-old Clayt leads his sisters, Kathy (16) and Amy (6), and brothers Big Twin and Little Twin (almost 12) to the land their father staked out years before. During the journey, they encounter wildlife, bad weather, an Indian they name Jim--and a crisis: Amy is stricken with a fever.
