Overview

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E.73 -STARGAZER- is a side story to the anime TV series, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. As of July 2006, it is being streamed on Bandai Channel as an original net animation. The show is directed by Susumu Nishizawa and written by Shigeru Morita, both staff members of Gundam SEED Destiny. The series consists of three episodes, each running at 15-minutes long. The web broadcast began in July 2006, with a new episode showing monthly. A DVD containing all three episodes as well as the two 5-minute long Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray animated shorts was released on November 24, 2006. This DVD also contained a different ending for Stage 3 in which several scenes after the Phantom Pain attack are shown. A manga adaptation of the series has been released in 2007. Authored by Naoki Moriya, it features an epilogue reveals the previously uncertain fate of Selene and Sven as they are shown to be alive and mostly unharmed from their ordeal. Sven joins the DSSD.

Season 1

In the year C.E. 73, a shockwave caused by the destruction of Junius Seven by renegade ZAFT soldiers leaves the Earth deeply scarred. In the midst of all the fear and confusion, two people look to the skies in quiet restraint as a single mobile suit is launched. One is Selene McGriff of DSSD, her mind on the stars. The other, unable to see the stars through the sky of black smoke and with a cold expression on his face, is Sven Cal Bayang of the Earth Alliance's Phantom Pain team, pilot of the Strike Noir.

Stage 01

The world is thrown into chaos after the Break the World incident during the Second Bloody Valentine War. A ZGMF-1017 GINN attacks a city where DSSD members Selene McGriff and Edmond Du Clos are in and causes massive damage until it is stopped by a linear tank commanded by Edmond, who is mortally wounded in his attack. Meanwhile Selene and another DSSD member, Sol Ryuune L’ange, leave for space while Phantom Pain deploys its pilots to fight ZAFT mobile suits that attack an Earth Alliance base.
